I cannot believe we are already into January 2016! All of our students did a wonderful job at the end of December performing Shakespeare. The classes in the audience seemed to enjoy it as well. I am proud of the work they did and Mikey had just a great time working with them again this year. We look forward to having him back next year and improving our performing skills with him!
Students spent this first week back watching film versions of their plays in their entirety. 7th graders have enjoyed a theatrical version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" while the 8th graders have watched the Globe Theater presentation of "Romeo & Juliet".
7th graders will begin a research project about the Elizabethan Era to expand their knowledge of Shakespeare's life and times. 8th graders will round out the month studying Shakespeare's sonnets and trying their hand at writing sonnets of their own!
Please continue to help your child find a quiet place to read for at least 30 minutes each day. Students should be reading at their lexile level and taking a quiz on Accelerated Reader when they complete each book.
